Getting ready to get a new set of tires on my 2015 Prius v Three. I've looked at the CrossClimate 2's from Michelin, but am a bit more curious about the true mileage hit that I can expect with these tires. I mainly travel in the Michigan, northern Indiana and Ohio areas during the year. Winters can get a bit messy with driving up north in the U.P. as well. I am open to suggestions from owners of various tires too. I would like to be able to get the tires from Costco as well, even though their selection can be rather limited at times. Thank you in advance.

I just wrote a long beautiful story of crossover 1 tires and it got deleted. So in short. Excellent traction besides slush. I am easily getting out of Frozen over bumpy parking. Survived 4 hrs of heavy snow storm in Nebraska and dragged poor thing through all mountains in various seasons and even ended up in gravel off road in Arizona. I also do not feel any hydroplaning on the highway with lots of heavy rain. But tires are softer on the sides so it may feel less stable in turns especially. U will loose few miles in cold when they become softer and so super heat. That is also due to use of heating and a/c i think. But in general i saw most of it in a winter about 6per gallon and some in super heat. My prius never was pass 55. Now with need of wheel work and 80k on it i do about 47 in a city. And they need to be replaced mostly because i didn't do alignment at all ( don't judge, rough two years) personally i am not going back to any other tire ever!

I recently put Michelin CrossClimate2 tires on my 2008 (Gen2) Touring. Knew I'd take a mileage hit, but hadn't been happy with treadwear and traction. Mileage dropped from 42-44 MPG to 38-39 MPG. But.............I just took a road trip, 55-65 MPH over 200 miles in essentially a straight line and the mileage jumped to 44-45 MPG. I usually get better mileage at freeway/highway speeds, but never this much of a jump. Especially since the CrossClimate2's are directional, I'm wondering if the turns of city driving scrub off mileage and straight-line travel gives it back.

(Side note - My car should turn 100K miles in the next few weeks.)

I have a 2012 Prius V. Mileage took a hit for me, I went from ~36 mpg to about 30. Though I am still breaking in the tires, looking forward to some of the numbers 1000 miles from now!

That is some pretty poor mpg.
I run defenders and always get 44 + mpg.
    42 psi front
    38 psi back

    Since Tires is tires....:ROFLMAO:

I put CrossClimate2's on our 2012 Hyundai Sonata...the last of our cars that still had the absolutely crappy and dangerous OEM's on it. Yes...I went from 2012-2021 with the OEM tires....and yes, I should have changed them out MUCH sooner. The car only has 50K miles on it though.

I'm happy to say that the CrossClimate2's are by far the best overall tire I have ever experienced. They also come close to performing as well as a snow tire in winter driving conditions. Really impressed with them! I can't comment on MPG degradation...but they seem to be just as good on the Sonata as the OEMs were. (y)

I have a Prius v five 2013 and I'm about to buy this crossclimate 2 tires from Costco. What's the noise like? I know they are good tires but I'm wondering about how noisy they are.
    Thank you
