Now when setting up the speed, a car keeps that speed despite uphills and downhills. Is there a way to change the cruise control to only limit the speed going down? For example, if a car goes downhill, speed can increase. Just wondering.

That used to be the way cruise control worked in conventional cars, where it only had a servo on the accelerator cable but didn't have any way to control speed downhill.

Personally, I've found the Prius ability to control the speed both uphill and down to be one of the coolest things about the car. Your speed is under control, and the downhill is charging your battery. Win-win!

If it bothers you, though, I don't know of a way to change it to make it like an older car. :(
