Coming home tonight I put the cruise control on and got a "Cruise" light. I engaged it and nothing happened. Tried several times and was just about to turn into the Toyota place and complain when I noticed I was in "B" gear by accident. Going to "D" made it work properly.

I suppose this is mentioned in the book but I missed it and didn't connect one thing to another. This is just a caution should yours not work sometime. It's the first time I slipped into "B" instead of "D."

Also, I found I could not start the car if the key is in a bag in the trunk. Oh, the things I've learned! It's like going to recurrent training on the 767. I'm going to write a checklist.

    It's been a hard day's night........

It could be worse, like on the early Airbus: you'd put the flaps down and the toilets would flush.

This was a much anticipated software upgrade btw. The original logic was such that when you flushed the toilets, the flaps would go down. It was so hard for the pilots to keep control.'

He didn't say he's working for TWA. Just because his Avatar photo shows a TWA L-1011 don' mean nothin'.

Alnilam is a retired TWA captain. TWA was one of the first airlines to fly the Boeing 767, having put it in service in 1982. In 1985 TWA launched its first transatlantic service with the Boeing 767, the industry's first ETOPS (extended- range twin-engine operations) service.

I cannot wait for school to start anew so that RichBoy (who certainly looks very girlish in his avatar) will be back in school and not have the time to spread so much misinformation on these boards.

It means I've got about 10,000 hours on it......give or take. But about a year before my retirement TWA retired the 1011 and I had to go to the 767. It's roughly like going from a tricycle to a Prius. B)
