Whenever I stop at a light and then continue, and hit resume on the CC nothing happens and I have to reset it. This doesn't seem right.

Great web site. It helped in my decision to buy a Prius.

Sadly it is working as designed. It isn't my favorite feature. I guess it is supposed to make sure you don't come off the interstate, then 'resume' on a 35 mph road or something. It is annoying when you are travelling on a road with a constant speed and some number of traffic controls spaced such that using CC is a reasonable thing.

Yup, as designed. I much prefer the CC in my Ford vehicles. With time using the Toyota CC becomes pretty automatic, but it's still not the best.

I've never owned a Toyota before. I wonder if they are all like that.
Also there is no auto on - auto off feature. There is a place on the top of the dash for the sensors and its in the manual. All specs I have ever read say auto off, which is what I have.

Each of the Toyota's I owned with CC ('82 Celica, '88 & '00 Camry, '04 Prius) did the same.

I've found that as long as you stay above 25 or so, it'll resume.

According to the Prius Users Guide: "Slowing down below 24 MPH (39 km/h) will cause the memory to reset. So if you have to slow down or stop, you'll need to set the speed again rather than using the resume feature."

It's annoying. I don't even use the "resume feature" in the Prius. All of the other cruise controls that I've had, remember their set speed untill the vehicle or unit is shut off - even the one on the motorcycle. I guess every automaker has to have a quirk, and this is Toyota's.
