    2014 prius v.

New CV axle replacement. Non oem. Cardone brand. Right and left.

Replace ball joints, and lower control arms.

Seated 177 ft.lbs. No leaks. In forward and reverse no sounds. High an low speeds. No sounds.

I make a wide turn and hear knocking grinding noise. Can feel the noise in the steering.

    What did I do wrong?

    Faulty part?

I wish I lived on Endor

I would expect more noise from a tight turn, than a wide turn...

check your lug nuts and brake dust shield

Yes, but I'm with mom. So tomorrow.

Also I can feel the CV axle grind in the wheel as I turn. This only happens on a while tight turn as far as the steering wheel can go. The

Hopefully the new axles solve the issue. If not, record the noise and we will attempt to identify it.

The issue was tie rods were backwards. I needed to switch the tie rods from left to right. The tire rim was grinding against the tie rod. The tie rod bows out. Thus the metal contact was happening on the wide turn

No experience, but I’ve read drive shaft CV joint issues tend to be heard in ONE turn direction only. If you hear noise during right turn it’s problem with left driveshaft, and vice versa.

Off-topic, but have you ever cleaned the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system, including intake manifold?
