my wife has been driving the prius and has noticed that the dash and mfd lights will shut off for a split second sometimes. They always come back on rather quickly( about one second). Anyone seen this before?

    Thanks

fiddle with the rheostat and see if that helps. sometimes they wiggle when hitting a bump, and if they are set at full brightness, are right next to the off position.

I will try that this afternoon.
    Thank you.

Edit:I asked her where the rheostat was positioned and she said it's locked in the full bright setting.

i do the same thing. maybe back it off a speck and see what happens. there are also defective mfd's with bad solder joints, but i don't think the dash lights would be part of it.

Backed it off and they still come in and off every now and then. Any ideas?

as i say, it could be a bad solder joint. can you pinpoint any particular situation when it happens? is it all on one fuse?

It usually happens on flat smooth ground. Not sure if they are on the same fuse. I will have to check.
