Dash lights

Just pick up my a new to me 05 7 hours ago. Total newbie, and fairly mechanically inclined. I apologize for not having to the proper vocabulary. I inspected the car in the day and as night has come around the bottom half of the dash seems dark, the hard buttons on the side of center display, the radio buttons are all dark. The rolling dimmer has no effect on any lights. Honestly not sure what is night time dash is supposed to look like.

I figured it out. The roller dimmer was unplug. Sorry for being a newbie...
