How does one remove the SPEAKER GRILL above the MVD ?

If I hold my hand on one corner "the dratted rattle" goes away

that I suspect the problem lies there-in

Yes, ours is the 2006 machine

Just pry up the front edge with a thin spatula or knife...comes up quite easily.

BTW, while you're at it try disconnecting the speaker wires...you might find, like several of us, that you prefer the increased stereo separation you get by removing that speaker.

Hasn't been for about 3 years. It's not a true 'center speaker' as you'd expect in a surround sound system, it's just an equal blend of the front two speakers...hence it serves to balance the sound if you have a driver and passenger...but since I'm usually the only one driving I can shift the balance of the front two speakers so they're equal and disconnecting the center speaker gives much nicer stereo separation.
