Day Tripping in the C

We decided to spend a day up in the mountains yesterday and took the C. If you ever have the chance to visit Mt Mitchell, North Carolina, I highly recommend it. The Blue Ridge Parkway has many beautiful vistas that sort of tease you along the way until you reach Mt Mitchell. The views on Mt Mitchell are incredible any time of year. For the best views, the fall time of the year is an even more perfect time as the colors are really spectacular. Mt Mitchell is touted as the highest peak east of the Mississippi. We live about 1.5 hours from this peak and usually tour the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding foothills on two wheels rather than four. It was a crisp 59 degrees at Mt Mitchell yesterday....so that is our day tripping story.
