Dealers reportedly charging MSRP for '06s

    Knowledge of this should be first-hand or from someone you really trust, and CURRENT---say, no later than a month or so before the post.

    If you can include a dealer phone number, and even the name of a salesperson or Fleet/Internet Mgr., please do so.

    If you also have SOLID info on "pre-order" (list) deposits, or actual order deposits, please include that.

    If you know the dealer is Costco-affiliated AND APPLYING DISCOUNTS TO THE PRIUS, please include that.

    If, after posting, you discover the dealer you posted is NOT selling at MSRP,
    please return and make note of it.

    We cannot be held responsible for what turns out to be inaccurate information. This is a good-faith effort to give people leads, nothing more.

    Preorder for 06' at MSRP there is a $500 deposit for pre-orders that states non-refundable, and is applied to the purchase price at MSRP.

    This was through Mark Keppel (a prius classic, owner) Sales Consultant.

    No solid preorder package info just estimated prices and odering based on current package wanted. He did make a list in his system as to what I wanted even though no confrimation on packages from him (Nav/no leather).


    EDIT: This was as of Oct 11th when I placed my order.

    He's actually at the BMW dept. now, but ask specifically for him, tell him Evan Fusco sent ya. He'll take a $500 deposit and is a very honest/fair guy. No major last minute suprises, won't try to screw you over. I actually have him on my Christmas card list and stop in just to chat sometimes.

    I just called Hanlee in Davis and they require a $500 pre-order deposit.

    Sorry to hear that. Maybe they didn't ask me for one because I'm a Costco customer.

    $500 refundable deposit (they don't cash the check).

    Ramon told me they never sell for more than MSRP, but won't go a penny below MSRP on a Prius.

    Not sure how long their list is ... I'm at the top of the list for 2006, but I've been on there since September (when I first heard about the tax credit).

    Burnsville Toyota and Walser Bloomington in the twin cities of MN are both charging MSRP. However, they are barely west of the Mississippi!
