    Of course, if you get the serial number wrong, it will tell you that there's "no need for replacement". There are two places where the character could be a letter or a number (not sure which) so I first put in a number then a letter and got the same message (no need for replacement). If I'm reading my battery's serial number correctly it should have the following format:
    AA-NAANNN-NNNNN-NNN-NNAN

    can anyone confirm that that's correct?

    Actually, all that you really need is the model number and you can verify that one piece of the serial number at the following url:
