About two months ago i ordered an '07 Prii, i just got the phone call that it would be in this week but that it was an '08. I had written down the base price of the 07 in a brochure they gave me as $22,175. Now the price on the toyota website for the base is $20,950. I got it fully loaded so my purchase order states the selling price as $27,584. Did the price of the '08 go down or am i not understanding this correctly?

Also, whats the deal with the $660 fee for desitnation and handling?

Yes the price dropped but they also removed:

    - cruise control
    - trim rings
    - tonneau cover
    - heated mirrors
    - seatback pockets

So....if i got option 6, which includes all of those, does the price stay the same?

I ordered a #6 Touring and the MSRP is $28319. I think the touring is about $350 more.

If you're getting an 08, it might be a few hundred dollars more.

The destination and handling is what we call "PDI" in Canada (Pre-Delivery Inspection). Its for the dealer to add stuff like the rear skirt, mudguards (if applicable), underfloor plugs, trim rings and other stuff that isn't attached to the car when shipped, as well as check to make sure everything works as planned + a road test.

Waitasec.....no more cruise control???? If I were buying right now, that would be a total deal-breaker.

I just received my 2008 Prius. Toyota added $150 to the price which includes my package and all the things listed on the 2007. Toyota is offering a base model this year which doesn't include all the extras on the 2007, but that doesn't affect you unless you order the base model and you said you didn't. That's why it is so confusing when it lists the base price. They add the extras and the package you want which is $150 more on the regular model...I don't know about the Touring model.

Hope I haven't confused you more.

OK, so I'm not gonna be getting it for less. But i shouldn't be paying any more for it now should I? I mean i ordered an 07 but they gave me an 08, so i should still be getting it for the price on the purchase order when i put down a deposit, correct?

Agood dealer would honor the price and swallow what ever increase there is for an 08, it's not like they were selling it to you for $100 over invoice LOL.
