Directional Flasher????Too Quiet

I have noticed this also and left it on longer than I intended because I could not hear the ticking.

 

i think it's toyota. my wife is forever reminding me on our, pri, camry's and corolla's for the last ten years.

 

like we need another beep sound in a prius!

 

Ample applications of Dynamat, no stereo, and silk-smooth roads... all are necessary prerequisites to the turn signal weeps not being drowned-out by the ambient din....

If you've driven newer Fords lately, they use this 2001 Space Odyssey-ish electronic tone instead of the common clicking noise.

That being said, the other day I noticed I was leaving the blinkers on. For whatever reason there was either more ambient noise, or the sound was more quiet than usual. Turns out I am more reliant on the noise to remind myself to turn the blinkers off. It was very annoying.

I wouldn't mind it being louder.

 

If you still have your eyes, just learn to be more aware of your surroundings.

 

Yes, I have always wanted a car that did not make that awful click-click sound every time the turn signal flashed. I love the quietness of the Prius turn signal. As 32kcolors says, you can be aware of the blinking signal on the dash, wish is plenty for me.

 

There doesn't seem to be a customization setting for the directional flasher volume, only for the buzzer signals.

 

Think economics... supply and demand. e.g., on the demand side, have you considered:

– An Ear Trumpet?

– Ear Wax Remover?

Of course you could just eliminate the entire problem with arm-out-the-window, hand signals. I'll leave it to you to venture over to youtube for your driving hand signal lessons--some are quite entertaining.

 

That's weak. How about something that matches the hybrid technology, a cochlear implant?

Ha! Ear trumpets and ear wax removers go along with stuffing foam tubing insulation into the grille, the arcane shift lever, etc.!

I actually thought about cochlear implants, but the Rush Limabaugh association scared me away.

then you should buy a 2005 Bucik Lasabre, the directional on it was loud enough you could hear it outside the car.

 

The blinking green arrow in front of you isn't clue enough?

 

I used to hate the clicker on my Civic! So I only flashed mine seconds before getting my green arrow for left turn. Back to the topic, you can certainly amplify it using a bigger buzzer below the "Start" button.

 

Per the Toyota repair manual, to get to the flasher, you start by removing the upper instrument panel assembly.

 

OMG! That's borders on criminal! And I would assume it's covered by neither the standard nor the extended warranty
