    Hi guys

We are the proud owners of our 2003 Prius. New Zealand new ..imported from Japan. Very happy with her. Came with loads of extras ..6 CD, Cruise and auto lights.

All the dash is in Japanese ..as is the MFD. Worked out most of it , but have a quick question.

When driving to the economy display screen ..getting good results ..32kpl .. whats the little blippy thing that appears every now and again? Is it a gold star for good driving?

    Appreciate any help.

    Cheers from New Zealand

Welcome to priuschat. Not sure what you are seeing on MFD but if it is below 37Degress F and by outside Temp display it is a snowflake to warn of possible ice. Otherwise don't know.

If you need help with Japanese on MFD, drop me a PM with pictures. I will translate them for you. Enjoy your Prius.

I've found a picture which shows the blip ...

I assume it shows energy generated .. is that good or bad?

Not having the user manual is a real pain!

    Thanks guys

    Welcome!
I think you're talking about 50Wh regeneration mark on the consumption screen.
Please refer to John's info sheet. Also, the user guide will be helpful.

Q: Is the regeneration mark good?
    A: It depends...

We see very few number of the regen mark on hypermilers screen. They don't use brakes a lot.
Of course, you have to stop at red lights and stop signs, so the regen mark is good when you have to use brake.
