Dissappearing Car Door

    Interesting idea, looks cool and would have some obvious benefits...but I'm not sure it's entirely practical or cost effective.

    This is actually pretty old and I think it was a one-off design.

    not a bad idea if it actually worked (heard it wasn't too reliable). Plus, that also means the interior door panel is quite bland.

    What a great idea, I would like to see this picked up by manufacturers. I wonder if it will fit the Prius? Imagine the looks of people watching the side of the car vanish!

    I'm too scared to ask how much or how heavy.

    The guy said no door dings but that only applies to the cars along side you.

    It says they remove the "B" pillar. I wonder what that does to structural integrity and crashworthiness in a side impact.
