Just curious. I think mine are good as a cosmetic toy only. I leave them off.

Shouldn't that be option 3? The No is for No, not running all the time.

Installed OEM foglights on our level 3. Currently, I am running them all the time, even when the low beams are off (daytime). Using them as DRLs, which the 2010 -2011 model years do not have. See my signature for details.

At night, they also visibly increase the illumination directly in front of the vehicle, especially in bad weather (yellow bulbs).

I am currently looking into rewiring the high beams for use as DRLs at half power, like other Toyota vehicles. They will have a low/high beam override that will either shut them off (low beam) or make them full power when the high beams are switched on or flashed. However, I am worried that this will cause warranty problems.

installed mine with a 55W 3000K HID kit so I only use them when I really need them. combined with the 55W 6000K HID low beams they are a bit much for daily driving for oncoming traffic.

I would vote 3 but I also use them in low light conditions to supplement the DRLs (high beam at reduced output). Yes I know I could use the full headlights but it's still the middle of the day and sunny unless the sun glare is really bad then I'll use the low beams so that oncoming traffic can see me. Besides, it looks cool with the parking light on top of the DRLs with the fogs on. A unique combination.

I'm in the same boat as striker308. 35w 6000k low, 35w 3000k foglights and 35w green high. When I turn the fogs on they look like they shine higher than the lows but i haven't touched them at all. Must be the lack of projector housing.

I have stock fogs & think they are useless. However, they are switched "on" because I paid for them so I'm using them.

I wish there was another option in between "only in foul weather" and the "no, not evers...". I went with the first "no, not ever.." but it's not really a fit: I'd like to say something like "maybe, of limited value...".

Our Canadian Touring Model has the fogs, and mostly yes, they're just a cosmetic toy. Besides fog, I though they'd be handy on on unlit narrow back roads. We have one situation like that, I'll flick them on, and I'll be damned if I can see any difference. I'll end up turning them on/off a few times just to make sure something's happening, but they're pretty subtle...

I've driven a Honda Pilot with fogs once or twice, and they were much more effective, in comparison.

I run mine with the headlights (auto). Mi Prii look sexier with the fogs on.

I agree. My smart fortwo's foglights were better and I could see the difference (the curb was actually illuminated and the beam was low and wide). The Gen 3's are slightly better than the Gen 2's as they do point somewhat to the side of the car. The Gen 2's were purely cosmetic and were prone to cracking from the intense heat of the bulb.

Try these in your fogs........... you WILL notice a change for sure.
Toyota Prius HID Xenon Fog Light Kit

use the 3000K and you will see the sides of the road and the road just infront of the car (where your headlights seem to mis) turn a yellow glow.

It's just for the holidays. Green on a red car with a wreath on the front. Normally the brights are also 6000k but I rarely have to use them anyway

Mod note: I've added an additional option for those of us who don't have fog lamps, but want to see the poll results.

On my 2nd gen, I ran them all the time, but the effectiveness was minimal, so it was more cosmetic than effective.
