Does anyone know this Prius?

    I originally found this Blizzard Prius on these prius chat forums.

    It is AWESOME....but I can't find it now. I have been looking all over this forum to try to find who the owner is andwhere they got these wheels.

    They are exactly what I want for my Prius.

    Does anyone have any details about where these wheels may have come from?

    You guys are so awesome! Thank you very much...

    Ill go ahead an hijack my own thread. I have been looking around and trying to find a decent idea of what kind of opportunity cost is going to happen if I do this situation:

    Get 17inch wheels (Probably one of the white ones described above) With a high end LRR resistance tire. Probably a Michelin or Goodyear.

    I will try to make sure the gross weight of the wheel and the rubber wil be the same or less of the stock 17 inch wheel that comes on the Prius 5..

    Then lower it approx 1 1/2"

    What sort of MPG am I expected to get if I am a conservative type driver who right now normally gets about 54mpg consistently with the 15inch OEM wheels and tires?

    I'm lowered and have run my Rota G-Force 18x8.5s and am running my OE 17s now. On the stock 17s I can get 53 MPG making an effort 75% of the time. On the 18's trying 75% I've been able to get average 46-48MPG.

    Another factor aside from the rolling resistance is the weight of the wheel.

    According to the dragwheels.com site the 17s are 22.35lbs

    My setup (Full Plus Performance Package) gives me mid 40's to just a couple tenths shy of 50 mpg driving normal with some attention to economical driving.

    The car above made me consider having my OE wheels done in white or just buying a different 15" wheel in white. I never would have considered it but that car looks nice!

    I have to agree. I am not a fan of colored wheels, but that looks really nice.

    My car is lowered about 1.25" using Ebach Springs and had the factory "V" 17 rims on it with a inexpensive 215-45-17 Capitol tire when I bought it.

    My normal daily drive is 140 miles a day R/T on So Cal Freeway at 85 mph - 10 mph depending on weather and traffic with a 10 mile grade on the way home and Im not light on the accelerator.

    I was averaging 43 mpg driving normal with the flow of traffic in PWR Mode using the factory rims and Capitol Tires. I recently swapped to a set of 17" Drag wheels that were a few lbs lighter than the factory wheels and a better tire (Hankook V2 215-45-17) and for the last 800 miles Im averaging 46 mpg under the same driving conditions.

    So if you are conservative it has to be better than Im doing.
