I just bought a 2012 Prius c. There are oftentimes when I don't drive my car for a few days. When this happens, I have heard that the car might not start, especially in the winter. Is this true?

    A few day's?
    Shouldn't be a problem.

"Life" kind of demands that a vehicle be able to sit unused for a minimum period of time. I've gotten colds and flu's and had my Prius sit for days...nearly a week, with no issue. People also park them for vacations and at airports. "Days"...even weeks on a newer Prius shouldn't be a problem.

if you regularly drive it at least twice weekly you should be fine. It should be more than just a drive 'round the block too. Less than that the battery may start to deteriorate.

Thanks for your quick reply. What happens if I go away on holidays and the car doesn't get driven for a while?

Probably nothing inconvenient happens, if your holiday is under one month. Maybe nothing, if your holiday is under two months.

keep in mind, we're talking about the 12 volt battery under the rear seat, not the hybrid drive battery.

if the battery is in good condition, you should be able to leave it for up to 8 weeks no problem. but who knows what condition it's in?

A couple of times I've left my C parked at A MI airport during winter for 3 weeks. When I returned the car started right up.
