Does navigation work offline?

    Does the navigation system work offline (w/o having paired to a smartphone)? Does it come with North America maps built-in? Are they on a DVD like the Prius Gen III, or something else? And how are they upgraded?

    Yes.
    No, they are flash based. I assume they are upgraded at the dealer, but I don't know that for sure.

    yes,yes,yes. you need to connect the smart phone to use the app in the entune.

    anyone know if Ipad 2 3G is ok with the entune?

    You don't need a phone to use the navigation system. It has nothing to do with Entune. Yes you do need a phone to use Entune, but you don't need Entune to use navigation.

    yes it works just as poorly with Entune as the iPhone 4.
