I noticed that my Fuelly signature is not staying up to date. When I look at my signature in my profile it is up to date but when I look at my posts it isn't. Anyone know why it does that?

Like number of fill ups, for example? Let's see. My signature page:

    Same as signature in post.

Number of fill ups and MPG on the Prime. The 2011 is retired. Mine is still off right now.

I noticed this yesterday in a post. I actually filled up for the first time and posted this to Fuelly using the iPhone. My first post afterward still showed zero fillups. When I clicked on it though it took me to fuelly site and I saw the correct details for the fillup. I also see the correct results in my profile signature when I view it but NOT when I preview it. I thought it might just take time on fuelly's side, but now that I have seen the correct values in my profile signature, I am not certain what is happening. I wanted to let you know that you are not alone in what you are seeing though.

Hopefully we can get an answer to fix it. Thanks for letting me know.

FYI, I actually just tested to see if it was the fact that we both had two fuelly badges and not just one. That seems to make no difference at all. My Prime says 0 fillups either way. It still has not been 24 hours since I posted the fillup to fuelly. Maybe there is some time delay in external updates, I do not recall this previously though.

I just switched to small banners and it seems to work now.

I see. I am going to stick with my big banners even though they do not seem to always be up to date. They show the number of fuel-ups and more detail. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved between fuelly and PriusChat.

Yeah, I prefer the large banners myself also.

Maybe just delete and then reinstalling the large banners would also work? Or has that been tried?

Hey there, this is Andy the owner of Fuelly (also a Prius owner).

Your signatures are supposed to update after each fuel-up. If they are not, it's possible that XenForo is caching the images. If you see that they are not updating property shoot me a private message and I will investigate further from our end.

    Thanks for being Fuelly users!

I just tested, I do think it's because of XenForo's proxy.

XenForo uses the proxy for a couple primary reasons. This site is running on SSL and many images are not being served over SSL. So XenForo caches a copy of the image and then passes it on to reader over SSL providing the safest possible viewing experience.

The other reason XenForo uses a proxy is to prevent remotely hosted images from hanging and slowing down the page from rendering.

The only solution I could find is to ask the site admin to lower the cache time so the images will update at whatever frequency the admin sets it at.

Alternatively, if many users here are using Fuelly, we'd be glad to work with the Admin to build a solution to address this.

I was able to easily correct mine by using the following process. Feel free to try and see if it corrects for you.
    1. Select affected vehicle and Export Fuel-ups to csv file.
    2. Rename affected vehicle and add suffix of ORG, just in case something goes wrong.
    3. Create a new vehicle and name it the same as the original.
    4. Import the photo, or a newer one. :)
    5. Import the fuel-ups.
    6. Verify that total fuel-ups and MPG numbers are the same for both current and ORG versions.
    7. Edit PriusChat signature and remove existing badge, which will referrence ORG now.
    8. Insert badge for newly created vehicle with fuel-ups imported.
    9. Preview signature and now it should display correctly, at least this did for me.
    10. Edit the ORG vehicle and remove from Fuelly.com.

Thanks! Hope this stays fixed. I am already doubtful because my fuelly pic shows up in my profile but not on this post. I added the pic after I changed my signature. I think it's an issue with PriusChat cache setting.

I am also doubtful as I updated my photo also and it shows in the signature editor, but not the preview or in my posts. I also added fake fuel up and the badge did not update to reflect. Well at least it is a workaround for each time you fuel up if you want to go to that much trouble. I will post the issue in the Fuelly forums also.

I located this remedy action for XenForo proxy from an older thread on Fuelly.com support that described the same issue. If someone in PriusChat admin group could please try excluding the Fuelly.com domain as described in the link.

I suspect they might be using a signature image proxy setup in XenForo. You might want to suggest to the forum management to exclude Fuelly.com from the proxy system. I read this thread that suggests domains can be excluded.
