A dedication service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, for the new Northwoods Bible Church in Ray. The new church is located on the corner of Highway 217 and Highway 53 (between Orr and International Falls).

The new building has a large white cross near the entrance. The cross is lighted in the dark so that travelers along U.S. Highway 53 can see it for miles. Drivers have reported the cross being an inspiration to them on this remote section of highway.

The first church in Ray was built in 1924. It was completely destroyed by lightning/fire on Sept. 13, 1939. ...
