Just grasping at straws here ...

Somewhere in the Vehicle Settings menu of mine is a DRL item. When first exploring the menus, I made sure mine had this item checked ON. But I don't recall just where it was, never tried it with the other setting, and it is not mentioned in the Owners Manual. But the manual is clearly not complete, e.g. my turn signal / light control stalk doesn't match any of the illustrated possibilities.

I think the car has to be in drive for the DRLs to come on. Not sure about that though.

Re-checking mine, all I have to do is turn on the ignition, release the parking brake, and wait a second. But for good measure, cycle it into D, then back to P before getting out to check.

I was wrong. DRLs come on when you start the car.

Not on my Gen3, when the parking brake is engaged.

Fuzzy1 is saying if you have parking brakes engaged with engine on ready, DRLs remains off on a turd gen until you get it out of Park gear.
