For those who have been buying '08s ... is Toyota still running the "ECO"nomic savings on the Prius? I believe it was $600 off for pkgs 4 and below and $2000 off for pkg 5 and 6 last year. Anyone have any info?

I had a similar post on here about the same thing. We ordered a 2008 and the salesman said ours would have the savings of 1750.00. Woo Hoo! We thought..It appears to be a sales gimmick. If you look up the car and build it on the site, the package six on the touring is something like 4175.00. When we got the car the window sticker matched the price of the "build your car" and had the discount but the dang package was now priced over 5000.00! It appears they just jack up the price of the package..Now, maybe the website price reflects the discount? We paid 28559.00 for our package six Touring with mats and XM..Not much savings. Got the mats "free" as we ordered it without but they put them in and I refused to pay for them..They took them off the price but left the mats..Now ours is in the GST region which might be different than yours..I would love to see what others are getting outside this area but nobody responded to my post reflecting any info..

Based on personal experience (purchase) of 2007 package 5 the eco savings were $2000 ($5080 reduced to $3080 pkg 5). The $600 off for pkg 4 is about what I remember (my have been $620). I was actually looking for pkg 4 to buy but with the eco rebate introduction it was too attractive to not to move up. :)

    Good luck,
    Gabe

In addition to the $2000 eco rebate for package 5 I was able to get another ~$1200 off the new reduced MSRP. Don't let the dealer play a shell game with you.

The $2000 off was recorded on the Pkg 6 I saw last night ... it matched the price when building one online ($27,535). It just appears the price has been raised substantially.
