We all know that @Raytheeagle‘s EGR circuit is squeaky clean. But the interior and the exterior of his car were due for some love and there was an opportunity for me to help him out.

    Process:

Washed the car using Meguiar’s D110 Hyper Wash
Decontaminated the paint using Optimum FerreX
Clayed the paint using ONR diluted to 32:1 as a clay lube and Meguiar’s C2000 mild clay
Light Paint Correction using the Rupes LHR12E Duetto, Optimum Hyper Polish and a Rupes Yellow Foam pad. The goal was to make the paint shiny, not perfect.
Wiped down the paint with Optimum Paint Prep to remove polish residue and leftover polishing oils
Coated the paint using Optimum Gloss-Coat (New Formula). The hood received two coats.
Tires received 3 coats of CarPro Perl diluted 1:1 (15 mi apart)

All of the interior plastics were wiped down and/or scrubbed using Optimum Power Clean diluted 3:1, followed up with a wipedown using ONR diluted at 256:1. All of the windows were cleaned inside/out and all carpets and seats were agitated and vacuumed.

By no means was this a full interior detail or a proper paint correction. The goal was to "freshen up" the car for the next owner and to install some long-term paint protection.

Yeah it's not small task cleaning up a "sunshine interior". Our last Civc was similar, light coloured, upholstered arm rests. They're fine if you never use them. I found Turtle Wax's Oxi-Power Out Upholstery Cleaner somewhat effective. It comes with a kind of useless built-in applicator/scrubber. I usually resorted to applying it with the aforementioned, then switching to another brush. It tends to whiten, so you really want to spread it fast and feather out the edges.

I just hope I can return the favor;).

But it’s always good to banter with @The Critic and give him opportunities to show off his skills:).

I think I even convinced him that the 15s are better. Between the better ride and the Bridgestone turanza serenities that have 7/32nds left at 80k miles, @Mendel Leisk might get nightmares of 15s wheel covers (y).

    Hopefully next winter:).

I’ll buy one of the corolla rims as an extra since I am spare tire less(y).

What’s exciting is the 88.4 mpg I’ve averaged in the 83 miles the car has on it:).

It started with 41 and was at 53 when we picked it up;).

But tomorrow the commuting from begins, so we’ll see what she’s got(y).

I hope I have convinced @Raytheeagle to maintain his paint as well as his EGR circuit.

Can’t wait to see how the Prime looks after a polish and two coats of CQuartz UK 3.0 (or something equivalently good).

When we meet up to put the Prime on the lift, I’m open to other things:).

Let me know what to buy;).

Just remember I have dependents so I live on a budget:cool:.

But I’ve got vent shades coming(y).

I have everything in stock. Just come prepared to spend 6 hours polishing your car and obsessing over every detail.
