& now? ... sad to report they're outa business.
too bad. i suppose it was to be expected - as the field of plug-in battery storage is in a Perpetual state of improvement in keeping up with those Electronics was a huge task.

The other thing that's too bad about pulling house current in any real quantity off of a pure EV is that once the battery gets low, you are once again - S.O.L.

That's why we are anxiously awaiting this bad boy .... not only does it have a eeeeuge battery, it has a eeeeuge gas tank as well. No Generac required.
    ;)

Ramcharger pickup uses onboard generator to charge batteries for extended range

    Hmm, interesting:

It seems as if he's still holding out some possibility of doing another product line. Something similar happened when he closed ConVerdant and then PlugOut Power opened with a new line of inverters from a different supplier. I suppose he's kind of at the mercy of what suppliers he can find who offer products with a suitable input voltage range and at a price that works out. (And the more hybrid-vehicle models crop up, the wider the input voltage range might have to be.)

Their "supported vehicle list" was a useful reference for the amount of power they had determined was practical to get from different hybrid models. So I guess it's worth making sure it exists on the Wayback Machine in case the web site goes away.

Years ago, a friend's storm generator was stuck in the dealership in time of need. It had already been repaired, but when Ray went to pick it up, the shop itself was closed due to a storm-driven power outage. Ray could see his generator through the front window, but the placed was locked, all employees gone home.

...... & that's why we'll still keep the Honda 6000kW Honda Tri fuel gen set .... just in case. But presuming it's not stuck in the service center, there's comfort knowing it'll deliver 7.2 KW until that 600 miles of fuel Runs Out.
THEN we'll switch to the Honda.

As for possible "what ifs" ... doesn't that natural gas powered Generac on the sides of folks' homes face the same possibilities? A good size earthquake not only can bring down natural gas delivery, but the electric power that keeps the compressors up - for natural gas pressure, right?

Most ng pipelines pump using ng. Traditionally ng has remained available in hurricane prone areas.

It's not just hurricanes people need to be concerned about.

Does it matter? In SoCal - nat gas regulator / meters have a bubble gauge used to disconnect the supply from the house. It presumes if the bubble goes outside it's little circle - then there's too high a probability that there will be a broken gas line somewhere down the line. The meter (delivery) shuts off.
So much for the Generac Natural Gas gen set.

Manually reset the meter? After having the gas supply plumbed such that you can isolate the gen set supply from the rest of the home?

    Examples:
Seismic Safety Products instructions Earthquake gas shutoff valves. Northridge valves prevents gas fires caused by earthquakes

    That.

I learned about that reset procedure about a week after I moved into California. I figured it was just one of those things Californians were supposed to know.

I tried the reset to no avail but maybe that was just me.

... or your particular model or unit or installation. Without further troubleshooting, we can't blindly declare "pilot error" as the cause.

Toyota /Lexus uses a 120V 1500W inverter on a number of new hybrid models, which is connected to a high-voltage battery.
Control comes from the power button.

    Original inverter number: 8624A-42020

What a difference 3 years makes. In just 2 or 3 more months - the 90+kwh plug-in Ramcharger (a 130kw genset) pickup becomes available. Who needs a turbo when you're AWD Motors generate 615' Lbs of torque .... much less tons of power out capability. It's 27 gallon capacity fuel tank means your gen set can run for a long long time during the zombie apocalypse.

Only remaining question will be whether its 1st gen DC QC capability will utilize NCAS architecture. If so the 6.5kW tri fuel Honda (only 65hrs on it) genset will go straight to Facebook Marketplace - along w/ the 60k miles used volt. At age 68 - the next car buy should last us 'till we go meet the Lord.
