I don't know if this has already been posted here. If so, sorry to post again.

A news story showing an electric race car beating a Ferrari 360 and a Porsche Carrera GT in a 1/4 mile race. Of course this is publicity stunt but, it made the news.

Open the page and click the video link. Notice, this page has pop-up adds.

Electric car beats exotics in race.

The tzero also beats a Porsche and Ferrari. Or maybe it was only a Porsche. Problem is, do you buy a one-of-a-kind concept car, or do you buy something that has dealers who can service and repair it? You can always build a more powerful car. In this story, the electric was clearly a racing car, while the Porsche and Ferrari are stock cars. Not a fair comparison.

Now the Prius, on the other hand, is an affordable, practical family car that gets better mileage than anything else its size, and puts out less pollution than any other gasoline-burning car. And that's something to crow about.

    SPANKED!

Of course, I can't show this to anyone I know - they'll ask why I won't drive faster.

Given equal maximum power outputs, no internal combustion engined vehicle can match the acceleration of an electric motor powered vehicle.

This is why ProEV's electric Impreza destroys the ICE competition at Autocross championships:

And why the electric motor-bikers say that on tight to medium tracks, an ICE bike needs 3 times the max power output of the electric bikes just to keep up!

AC Propulsion's T-zero manages 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and has "not been beaten in a drag race by any street legal car".

I want a tzero. I don't know why I want one. I have no interest in racing. I guess I just think maybe I could pick up girls if I had a tzero.

On the other hand, it costs, what (?) 300 K? 400K? and there's only something like 2 or 3 of them and last I looked they were building the last one, so no service available, etc. Guess I'll just have to live without one.

(I also want a Bengal tiger. That's another thing I'm gonna have to live without...)
