Hi. I'm a filmmaker and I want to be able to turn on the back up camera on the dash while driving forward, aim another video camera at it and record. (while I'm sitting in the passenger seat of course). Better yet - is there a way to tap into the backup cam so I can record directly from that while driving forward? Is there a 'finger dance' I can do to allow this and override the fact that it automatically shuts off while in Drive?
Thank you and much appreciated! I have a 2007 (2nd gen Prius) I've seen the posts for the 2010 Prius but nothing for the 2nd generation. Sure, I can rig a separate camera to the back of the Prius but the Prius camera is aimed perfectly for what I'd like to do and the fisheye helps my idea as well.

go to Darell's Electric Vehicle Page

Click on "Prius Hybrid" in the frame on the left
Click on "Mods" near the top of the page
Click on "Anytime Camera View" about halfway down the page

I (maybe) found them on anhoter smaller connector on the left but i'd like to be sure about them being the rigth ones (colors are the same, they are just not in the position indicated by Darrell .
    Can somebody help me ?

The reverse wire should be pink. You'll have to feed a +12V into the display but it cannot back feed into the harness or else the reverse light will turn on. An On-On switch work best. Common to display unit, Norm Close to the harness and Norm Open to +12V.

Also, what's another name for "vampire clamp"? When I Google it, I only find results related to this guide.

That gives better results! Any idea what the AWG of the wire is?

As always, pink is 18-20awg, Blue is 14-16 awg, yellow, 12-10 awg. Honestly, I wouldn't use yellow for 12-10 awg. I'd use pink for 18 awg, blue for 18-16 awg and yellow for 14 awg. If you're going to splice 12-10 awg, you're better off, stripping the wire and do a solid connection. As for the reverse wire, I don't know about gen II but my Gen III looks to be 18 or 20 awg.
