engine durability

    I can't seem to find a way to post this question on any other board...so here goes...I'm looking at a 2004 Prius, but the mileage is 84,000...what is the lifespan of the engine ...does anyone have an idea?....My direct email is [email protected]se I can't locate your answers on this site...Thanks for any imput

    I've not seen on this or any similar forum any reports of significant engine failure. If anything, the engine should last longer than in conventional cars. Simply put, it doesn't have to work as hard or as often for a given distance driven.

    The engine should last longer than a normal Toyota engine, which means your kids could end up driving it.

    Taxi fleets have not reported problems with the internal combustion engine (ICE or gas) or hybrid system so you should have a good 200,000 miles before you need to start thinking about repairs.
