Engine ignition after start?

    I test drove the Prius the other day. It was a fun drive, but one thing I noticed right away was how to start the car. After pushing the start button, it took a few seconds before the engine started. It seemed like a long few seconds. I'm certainly not used to this system, so is this normal?

    Yes, this is normal. Just keep your foot on the brake until the READY light appears. :)

    Also remember that the internal combustion engine may NOT start until the computer decides it is needed. "ready" simply means the car is ready to go!!

    Oh, duh, since this car works between two systems.
