    Hi All,

Last week (and tonight), I noticed an odd engine-speed noise while driving on the highway. It is intermittent - it will continue for 5 - 10 minutes or more per "occasion". The best way to describe it might be to say that it sounds like I have a diesel under the hood.

It is most noticeable when the HSI is from the mid point up to the Power bar. If I go into Power, it becomes noticeably louder & higher in frequency - if I go below mid point, it becomes nearly silent.

If I stop the car, and force the engine (put it in Park, and press accelerator) - the engine sounds "normal".

It is a 2010, I have 111,000 miles, and have changed the oil every 10k miles (0W-20).

I'm convinced/fear that if I bring it in to the dealer, the noise will not reappear.

Has anyone else experienced anything of this sort? Any ideas on what I should check (have checked)?

    Many thanks,
    Eric

Mostly Highway Speed - generally about 65 mph.

I don't really hear it when going slower, and even at that speed, i don't hear it when I release the accelerator. (It is directly related to engine speed - in addition to meeting a minimum vehicle threshold speed).

one thought is an engine mount, maybe would vibrate differently when not connected to the tranny.
