    Hello everyone,

My car has 120.000 miles and regular maintenence done on schedule.

Yesterday, after a 1000 mile / 4 day trip, after a break at a service station, the engine srudded violently (for being a prius, it felt like a diesel) while cranking up durin acceleration.

The check Engine light came on.

    Using Can-view, I noted these DTC codes: P0101 C3100 P0000
    And cleared the memory.

    The check Engine switched off.

Then I tried to to a kick-down: the engine responded normally, but the check engine started blinking. I looked at the DTC codes: P0203 P0401 C3100
    And cleared the memory.

    The check Engine switched off.

Later tests of acceleration, stopping, etc. did not produce any more errors.

Today I looked on my Prius technical reference manual but I could not find NONE of the above mentioned codes.

    Can anyone help?

Yes, looks like the CAN-View is useless with regard to providing the correct DTC.

    What is a "kick-down"?

Have you replaced the iridium spark plugs recently?

If the check engine light returns, I suggest that you visit a Toyota dealer so that the DTC can be read. Good luck.

have you checked the ignition coils?

step 1 would be plugs.. 2 would be the coil that isn't firing for that particular plug.

Oh, am I not the only one?

It's when you floor it, accelerate 100%.

Recently, no. I've done it at 64,000 miles, next time it's due in 3,000 miles.

Yeah, pity I am in Danemark and later Germany, the lanuage barrier is a problem. :D
