Hey folks, we have a 2006 and 2009 toyota prius that are experiencing ignition issues. We've replaced the 12 v aux batteries in both and have intermittent engine turn over. Some days they start just fine and other days they need a jump to get going. I need to put a volt meter on them but there seems to be some voodoo we cant figure out as they do start right up certain days. We have also made sure the ground cable is tightened up on both. I'm wondering if there is a contact issue somewhere. We also know that some mice have made there home in them over the years and I fear they may have chewed up some cables in the process. Let me know if y'all have any ideas before I take it back to a qualified tech. Thank you !

i can't think of anything that would affect two cars in the same way out of the blue.

    who installed the 12 volts?

when they start, go to autozone for a free load test.

Take voltage measurement at the battery in the back and also at the jump point in the front. How close are the voltages to each other? Tell us what voltages you have.

Need some voltmeter readings from the 12V systems when things don't work.

Could be looking at a 12V problem.

Could be looking at a Combination Meter (bad capacitor).
