I'm a newbe , wanna be... Im trying to figure out when the 2010's might be on a Lot to be seen... So if a ship delivers what 1000 prius's per run (2 weeks)... and there are 40,000 2010 prius cars pre ordered. I would be able to see a car mid July ...

    2015...

    Am I close?

First NE ship lands in Newark NJ May 29th... Say a week or two after that you should see them at dealerships, in small numbers.

About 500 cars per ship I think, but keep in mind, the boat may not be all Prius' but a mix of all various Toyota models.

Most dealers get service loaners to use. i suspect that some smart dealers will use those as demo vehicles.

The ship my car is on holds over 6,000 cars. It's over 650 ft. long and 100 ft. wide.

This ship carries up to 6400 cars. Including the Prius I'm considering ordering, according to the printout I picked up today.

And this forum has named many ships carrying Toyotas to North America.

I thought somewhere on here it was posted that the vessels only carried 500 give or take a piece. I thought it sounded low... Well there ya' go I guess, more cars than I thought I read.

And yes, there are several vessel names which have been mentioned on this site, just search around.

Hi Rob, I have pricing on the new 2010 Prius models but we haven't been informed as to when we'll actually start seeing the cars. At this point I could order one for you, and the basic model that you're inquiring about is in fact model #1223, which lists for $22000 plus $805 for freight. The only factory option is white pearl paint, and that's an extra $220. Carpet mat set is $200. If you wanted a basic one with a standard color and no mats, then it is going to be $22805.00 + ttl, which totals up to $24473.28. I would need a $500 deposit to turn an order in, so you could call me with a credit card # or come by to meet with me and we could go over what you'd like on it. Feel free to call me at either # above, and let me know what day and time you'd like to get together. Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Alex Wier

The Prius II MSRP is $22,000 plus destination/delivery. The standard Toyota destination charge is $750. If you live in SET or some other non-standard Toyota region, perhaps it costs more, but it seems that is the first $55 extra you're looking at.

The $220 extra for Blizzard Pearl is a standard MSRP (dealer cost, obviously, is less). Floor mats/Cargo mat combo is $200 MSRP (again, dealer cost is less). $1,668.28 for Title? Wow! That's a steep fee! I know my title is going to cost $80, but perhaps that's just Illinois.

Destination is $805 in GST region, and the $1668 is tax, title, and license, with probably about $1500 of that being the sales tax.

Sounds like a good deal since he's not making you get other options and such. Pretty much everybody in the Dallas area that I talked to is quoting MSRP.

Just make sure it a refundable deposit.

Thanks for the clarification! Sales tax at 6.5% would do it.

I'd say it is a pretty fair deal. Some dealers have suggested they are offering $500 below MSRP, but I don't know what the out-the-door price would be. Here you know the OTD, and it sounds like the going rate, but without add-ons.
