    We could but we would have to devise a better source of raw matrial than corn (boy that would upset our agribusiness system). In lue of a better source we would have to drastically reduce our meat consumption and us the grain normally feed to livestock to be used for ethanol production. We would also have to seriously transform our agricultural practices to reduce soil loss and fertilization with petrochemicals. All of our farm machinery would also have to run on biodiesel. Irrigation techniques like drip irrigation would have to be implimented to prevent salinization and overdraw of our aquifers. Well, there is more to it but you already know this stuff. :)
