Exclusive: Re-oriented fuel cell stack juices up FCX - Honda FCX Concept Preview

More often than not, it is the small things that make the biggest difference -- and it's usually a eureka moment that leads to the breakthrough. This is particularly true of the Honda FCX Concept, a car that is really only a concept in name. Most of its hard points have been finalized and will appear in the production version slated for launch in 2008.

After driving the FCX Concept around Laguna Seca Raceway (yes, a fuel cell vehicle on a race track), it became obvious the fuel cell has finally come of age. While the refuelling infrastructure still represents an enormous hurdle -- although not insurmountable -- the rest of this very complex equation is more than ready to go.
