Due to the non-stocking of extra parts and the "just in time" arrival of ordered parts, expect the disruption of auto assembly lines in the near future.

Automakers count down to looming China parts shortage - Nikkei Asian Review

A large number of car parts are now manufactured by sub contractors in China, Korea, Japan and the rest of Asia.

Unlike simple products found at Dollar Tree and Walmart, automobiles require thousands of complex manufactured parts. Just one missing component might shut down a vehicle assembly plant.

Factories are starting back up, shouldn’t be too bad unless things change

They're starting up using forced labor. Ethics questions aside there might be some quality issues with the stuff for a while.

And don't forget, there's a "bubble" of maybe 5 weeks worth of missed production, ships not loaded/unloaded etc.

They could get everything back to 100% tomorrow and we will still have certain showrooms and shelves empty between April and June.

Agreed, that’s why I said ‘too bad’

And Chinese ethics questions would be oxymoron ‘s

Seeing results of shortages in my industry already.

    Products made in Shenzhen

Possible from the double knockout with the (extended) Chinese new year.
