The photos I believe Erica is referring to were sent in the "We've Finished Building Your Plug-in" email (I received this email on 2/10), see attached.. yes, that is the actual size in the email. Looks like you received the 2/10 email. The pics were so small you probably missed them :D

High resolution images of anything PiP related would be great.

The images in the email are too small to pick out any details. For all we know, they weren't even PiPs on the assembly line. They could've been regular Prii. :)

Didn't see any charging access door on the right rear fende in #3r, nor any fuel door on the left rear in #1. Home market cars, maybe? Interesting use of robots and the cool moving chair for the guy working on the interior.

Roger, These videos were all uploaded on 14 June 2009. These are Gen III Prius, but not Plug-Ins. The Plug-Ins now are probably all going down the same assembly line. In other words, a video of the plug-in line should look pretty much the same.

My Plug-In is suppose to be built next week. It's fun picturing in my mind that my car will be going through these same stations.

OK, thanks for starting this thread. The others are right, according to your schedule, you should have received the email already.

I'm attaching high res wide angle shots so let the fun begin. I won't say anything, see if you guys can figure out the stages these two images are from and any other fun details.

More fun and games to come later as well.

    Best,

Well the 2nd pic looks to be the final roll out just before the testing stage where rubber seals, headlight aim and wheel alignment are checked (Among other things).

That blue is looking mighty good.

I like it better each time I see it.

Of course, I think it would look best in my driveway...

I thought the same thing! The blue one doesn't look to be an 'Advanced' trim and mine was also one of the early ones, so....

    Could it possibly be mine?!

Agreed! I'm feeling better about my 'blue' choice every time I see it!

Yes the Clearwater Blue does look good and not as light as Clear Sky Metallic.

Of note, if anyone's curious how Nautical Blue looks on a 2012 Prius, it's the dark blue that's parked to teh left of the photo.

Ah. I have images disabled by default for privacy reasons, but you're right, I'm not sure I would have noticed that even if images were showing…
Erica, thanks for the high-res versions! Def much more interesting :)

Regarding jbrad4's videos, I'd seen all of them before except the wheel attachment one (uploaded by a different YouTube user). They were posted at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...2010-prius-made-in-tsutsimi-plant-videos.html and I made some comments at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...made-in-tsutsimi-plant-videos.html#post876241 and a bit later in that thread. For those who were unaware of that thread, some might find my comments there insightful.

I took a tour of a (the?) Tsutsumi plant in late 03 and at the time, 2nd gen Priuses were on the line along w/a whole bunch of other cars, including the Lexus ES.

As I mentioned before, for those who like cars and hasn't toured an auto assembly plant, I definitely recommend visiting one. See http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/about_toyota/facility/toyota_kaikan/. Better yet, time the visit w/Tokyo Motor Show (been to it 3x). Unfortunately, I believe you'll have wait until 2013 for the next TMS.

I've also taken tours of a Nissan plant in Oppama, Mazda plant in Hiroshima, the former NUMMI plant and Ford Rouge.

Erica said in this thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-...cept-prius-team-thank-you-18.html#post1475012

Looks like the car is pretty much built, plastic over the rims. Seems the guy is maybe performing a final inspection of the paint/body for imperfections or checking things are tight and secure like door handles. Also, it seems the guy to the right is checking things out in the trunk on the Blizzard Pearl non Plug-in. I say non PiP because there is no rear charging door. I wish I could see the door on the white PiP but it's too hard to see. Unless that's what his hand is doing, testing the function of the charging door...(?)

Now let's see more pics and those videos you spoke of Erica! :p
