So I got my first oil change at the dealer at 4200 miles this Jan. 6. I also did the obligatory 1000 mile oil change on my own and added a magnetic oil plug. Well a few days went by and I checked the oil level. Yes, they over filled it no biggy I figured it would happen. So just today Jan. 17 it was warm enough outside to use my little oil extractor pump that uses a tube in the oil dip stick to remove some oil. Guess what it's dark as molasses. 1.) Either the overfill splashed so much it turned the oil dark. 2.) They never changed the oil but charged Toyota for the oil change. QUESTION: What can we do to make sure the oil is changed? Next time I will remove some in a container before the oil change and after compare it with some removed oil using my little 12v oil pump in the parking lot? I am mad they made me wait for the FAKE service and IMO lied. On the other hand I am glad I caught it and know the true mileage on the oil. I will also check to see later if they actually changed the filter because my initial oil change was with a Mobil 1 filter not OEM Toyota filter. So be aware or prepared. I am going to ask questions and hear from the tech it was done and then check it. I would love to catch them in a lie next time.:argue: my2cents.
