    Hmmm Maybe it is an anti-trust investigation - Europe is investigating too

    The FBI raids may indeed be part of a price-fixing investigation. I found an article about European raids of the same kind.

    Great. So now in addition to the safety issues and a criminal probe, Toyota is under investigation for price fixing? I wonder what is next.

    Read carefully. Toyota is not under investigation - the parts manufacturers are. Toyota is a major customer and has some ownership position in some of them, but it is not under investigation. Given that each parts company makes different parts, it appears unlikely that the supposed antitrust violation involves price fixing and more likely involves an allocation of markets.
