So the one thing that I miss most since I traded my prior car for my Prius is the turn signals.

On my old car, you could tap the turn signal stalk up or down and it would flash the signal 3 or 4 times. Thus with a single tap, I had enough flashed to signal my impending lane change.

Of course, there is no way in hell I would trade my Prius back in...

What feature do you all miss the most?

The ability to haul a weeks worth of ski gear, 5 family members, ice chests, toys, pack&play inside and skis on top while plowing through 12" deep snow at 60mph in 4WD! ;-)

Ok, seriously...the large electric adjustable seats are the only thing I really wish I had. An attenuate (not the press the mode button for 5 seconds to turn off the system) button on the audio system is nice too.

i guess if i missed anything, it would be ride height. in my F-150, i sat a lot higher and that was nice in heavy traffic. i hate not being able to see around the car in front of me.

i end up just falling back to create space for myself.

The intermittent wiper control on my 1997 Plymouth Breeze had far more variance between the high and low settings. Though I've never heard anyone complain about this before, with the six months of drizzle we get every year here in the Pacific Northwest, good wiper controls are very important.

That being said, there is no way I'd ever take back that rolling oil slick I called my car.

A button or knob to open the trunk, instead of having to manually open it (or button on the remote to open the trunk).

Hmmm, since I went from a '93 T100 to my Salsa AI, the only thing I might miss is the excessive amounts of heat in the winter kicked up by that huge V6, the 8 ft bed, and the ride height. But I still have that truck so I don't really miss it. Other than that, this is the first car I've ever had that had air conditioning and something other than an AM/FM radio. Needless to say I'm in heaven.

The only thing I miss from my 300M is the "memory" button so that if someone else drove the car, one push of the button returned the seats and outside mirrors to the postion you had set earlier. Of course, I got around this problem by buying my wife a Prius of her own!

    Old car = 1997 Pontiac Trans-Am
New Car = 2005 BEUTIFUL White Prius PKG 6 (I've owned for 2 weeks)

Things I miss from the Trans-Am:

    1. The Audio system was better in the T/A - but this is minor since I mostly listen to AM Talk Radio (Any other Hannity or Savage listeners out there?) and the CD changer in the Prius sounds fine. Tuner issue in FM I wonder?

    2. The motorized antenna on the T/A - allowed using gas station washes without having to remove an antenna. Again, minor, since I love the Prius too much to use automated washes - I'll hand wash my little beauty thank you.

    3. The one cool thing the T/A did that I haven't seen in any other car is that when you shut the car off and took out the keys, the radio stayed on until you opened the drivers door. That was kinda cool. Again, minor since the keyless system in the Prius totally rules over having the radio stay on a minute or two while getting out.

    4. I kinda liked the pop-up headlights on the T/A. Again, no big deal since I got angry when I had to pay to fix one of the motors on it.

Things I like better in the Prius: Too numerous to post - I don't want to type a book.

So - most of my "things I miss" have to do with the audio system - all of them are minor.

Oh - Notice this - I did NOT list the power of the T/A as something I miss. This suprises even myself. It was my largest concern when I decided that I wanted a Prius. Frankly, I've never been a "speed demon" - I just liked sports cars. The Prius moves just fine and I haven't even NOTICED the power difference (ok, maybe once when I wanted to pass an A-Hole on the freeway).

    1. Lumbar support - I am still working on a solution.
    2. An undivided rear window view.
    3. Auto lock/unlock when shifted into/out of gear.
    4. Hand brake or dash-switch released foot brake. I hate the
inconvenient push to release the parking brake.
    5. An add-on cassette deck. I was not willing to spend $2000 to get it.
    6. Add-on fog lights. I was not willing to spend another $2000 to
    get these either.
    7. That radio mute button on the steering wheel.
    8. A nice list of owner-installable accessories.

in addition to missing the mute button as i mentioned earlier i should also note...
i really miss having an unreliable car that dies on the highway every 10 miles or so, and non-adjustable seats that reclined way too far back and aggravated my spine injury. and the nonfunctional cruise control was just awesome.
how about the rusted out muffler, gotta have that. or maybe the 2 dead cylinders in a v6 engine that ended up getting me around 10 mpg?
yeah, i'm feeling a bit sarcastic tonight.

everyone comes from different backgrounds i guess, but the prius is a huge step up for me!! guess i'm just young.
