My dealer was pushing Xzilon from Granitze Products when I bought my Prius yesterday. It's suppose to be a molecular adhesion exterior protectant. The company makes alot of claims regarding frequency of car washing, bird droppings, etc.

From the internet, I see alot of other dealers pushing the same product from $299-$799. However, I can't seem to find much feedback.

    Any thoughts?

    Pure profit for the dealer.

the stuff most dealerships are peddling is slightly better than synthetic wax and much better than carnuaba wax but hardly worth the money, as long as you have access to shade you can just wax it yourself for 1/20 or even 1/50 the cost, its also a good bonding exercise to perform with your car :)

for the inside: I have the stuff for cleaning the seats/armrests and the stuff for cleaning the carpets (if your car is used), follow that up by buying the Scotchguard yourself and applying it yourself.

If you have the disposable income to throw away to have dealerships do this stuff you should consider buying a Tesla roadster instead of a Prius.
