    Kinda interesting considering what day today is.

    I was manning the radar on the maneuvering watch when one of the radiomen (they call them ITs now) came running out of the shack with the news.

    I was underneath a press replacing a broken belt and covered in grease and fiberglass shavings when a coworker/friend gave me the news.

    A couple months ago I visited Kennedy Space Center. They have a very well done area honoring the crew.

    It was my first day in a new school after a cross country relocation. I thought the kid telling us was guilty of was some particularly bad hazing until they wheeled out a TV in the classroom later.

    on the meta-topic of moderating content in light of tragedy-

    For the 2003 mishap I was on a production crew that had the responsibility of combing through hours of shortly-to-be-aired extreme sports footage to remove all references to "crash and burn" as made by the commentators.
