Yesterday was my first day with my PiP, and I decided to try driving somewhere near me in Los Angeles where I could charge. I found SoCalEv (SoCalEv Charger Map), and felt like I'd struck gold: they showed that the nearest Costco has chargers, so I drove there. But while I found three chargers there, all had the old paddle-style connector. I had to listen to the humiliating hum of the ICE as I drove home.

It left me wondering, what are the best resources for finding SAE J1772 charging stations in particular? (I gather there's an Entune app for this on the advance model, but I have the base model.)

ChargePoint has an app & website for their charging-stations. It shows available & in-use status too.

I like how their app gives you real-time info about the charging. You can also setup text & email notifies.

Also handy is the CarStations app.

I guess like search engines or yellow pages (excuse the retro referernce), no one app lists them all.

Best - most comprehensive map data base for J1772 plugs is here:

PlugShare - Electric Vehicle Charging Network

It contains both Blink AND chargepoint sets, as well as residential folks who're willing to share ... as well as the smaller EVSE companies ... as well as quick charge spots.

Yes, I signed up for that. And I have the Chargepoint app. But they don't seem to be located anywhere I go (I admit, I'm a deeply strange person who has no commute and only goes to unusual places).

Plugshare seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks, Hill!

There are links to many of the sites that show charger locations at the evfinder links page.

EVsites Just click on the EV Charging Stations button.

I like Recargo which shows many different types of charging stations but Chargepoint and Blink are good if you are interested in their chargers and both have a pretty good number of chargers installed.

The Chargepoint stn locator is hopelessly slow, pretty much unusable, during peak hours. They seriously need to upgrade their infrastructure to enable more traffic.
