Well Digg.com had a posting which said 2.0 was being made available to the public. I tried that link plus yours and all I get is the one I am currently using, namely 1.5.0.7. I guess I will just have to wait until tomorrow to be on the bleeding edge. :D

All of your extensions, except colorful tabs, will work in FF2.

tab x has basically been incorporated into FF2 . All tabs in FF2 now have an close button. I personally preferred one main close tab on the right side of the tab bar which would close the active tab . . . there was no need to move the mouse to hunt down the ever moving position of the active close “x.†BUT . . . there is an add-on extension which will revert me back. :D Aren't add-ons swell.

Not sure what you mean by “mozilla calendar†are you talking about . . .
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/
. . .and have an add-on for Firefox or Thunderbird to open a “calendar

thanks SPE... i might live without my colorful tabs then, i've got the 2.0 installer on my desktop right now.

seems they changed the calendar deal since i got it... looks like they renamed it lightning and made it a whole crapload more functional... damn i love mozilla! now i'm going to have to export all my events from my current calendar and download the newer better version... sigh... so much to do!

i recently added cookiesafe and noscript, as well as ie tab or whatever that addon is called.

hope my favorite theme works... maybe i'll give it a shot tonight then.

I'm debating. I have 1.5 now. I had a later version, but for some reason the search function (the thing in the upper right hand corner) didn't work. Just sat there.

ok i'm now using ff2... but i miss my theme! [IMG]

edit: also picked up sunbird, which is basically a standalone program made from the calendar i was using earlier. didn't have to change anything over, a couple clicks to import the current calendar events and that was it. painless! i didn't like the way they did the lightning add-on to thunderbird... but i also am not sure i want to deal with yet another always-open program. so i may switch back to lightning and just deal with it. not sure yet.

Not to fret (at least for too long) . . . A nice new feature in FF2 to the rescue: When you start FF, you will be informed with a pop-up when one of your add-ons are updated, and from that pop-up you can tell FF to do the update.

An easy tweak: For some goofy reason, By default, spell checking is disabled in single line text boxes.

To make it automatically spell check single line text boxes too:
    1. Enter about:config in the location bar
    2. Set layout.spellcheckDefault to 2

After you type about:config in the location bar and press enter, type layout in the filter bar. This will narrow down your search. Right click on layout.spellcheckDefault, click modify, enter 2, then OK.

    Tweak tip from: http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2006/10/firefox...ks-more-tweaks/

I didn't see this in the keyboard shortcuts help section:

Cmd-# (where # is 1 though ?) jumps to the tab ordered 1 and up from the left . If my tabs had numbers that would be even better, but this is nice.

I'd been using RC3, but haven't seen an automatic update for Firefox. Is the official 2.0 the same as RC3 or do I need to reinstall?

Odd thing about browsing at work via Firefox: to see the 2.0 version on the download page, I had to hold the Shift key and click the Reload Current Page button.

Same thing almost every morning for Foxtrot.com too. Wish it could be done behind my back every click...

Kinda odd. I have FF 2.0 and Thunderbird. I wanted to look at the themes of Thunderbird. And what browser came up? IE! Funny, I would've expected Thunderbird to look for FF (which is my default browser) first.

I wish i could do the same... unfortunately, when one makes websites for a living, one has to design for inferior cr*p every day.

And can i say, the spell check is great... i doubt I'll ever have a misspelling on here again!
