Firefox 3 beta 2 is now out and available for download and testing . .
Available in Mac OS X, Linux, and of course Windows . . . and in many languages.

. . . . and they would be happy to get your feedback should you find something that doesn't work properly or something you just don't like. They even provided a link for you to drag into your bookmark toolbar if you wish. Some add-ons will not work if the developer of that add-on has not updated it to be compatible.

Firefox 3 b2 will load in its own folder and not interfere with your primary browser, although I have found it very stable (and fast) to where I have already designated it my primary browser. It even migrates over your Firefox 2 bookmarks and settings.

If you first wish to read the release notes and "what's new" . . .

[yes, I did this post in Firefox 3 beta 2]

    Alright, I'm in.

I carry a lot of add-ins and the vast majority are not compatible yet. All the same, reading the "What's New" document gives a really good impression of why to upgrade.

I've been burned on Firefox upgrades before. I'm going to upgrade only if I absolutely need to.

Take out the word "Firefox" from the above sentence and it's still true for me.

Thanks for this information, Patrick, and for helping out with the testing. As a mere user, however, after glancing through the list of known issues, I think I'll wait until they decide it's ready for general release.

A month later the greasemonkey people finally updated their add-on. It's now good through FF3b3 . . . which as of this writing isn't even out yet.

I have yet to have a problem with Firefox3 . . . and now my colorful tabs are updated too. :)

P.S. The add-ons will update themselves automatically when new upgrades come out.
