I purchased my 2010 Prius IV today and went for about an hour long drive around the Fargo-Moorhead area this evening to get familiar with driving it. I was pretty impressed, especially when I'd get the battery charged up and go for what seemed like miles with the ICE off at 30-40 MPH.
Totals for the drive were 32 miles and 70.9 MPG. I'll take that for mostly around town driving!

That was great for a first day (or, for that matter, for any day!)

I wish we had some REALLY flat terrain around here, since hills, even mild ones, seem to hurt the MPGs. I do a lot of gliding downhill, but have not attempted the "pulse and glide" technique, maybe because it seems to violate energy conservation because of frictional effects. I know a lot of people wear by it.

My best day (in the month I've had my Gen 3 Mod III) was 82.1 MPG over 10.4 miles.

Good luck with your new toy (ota)!
