Anyone with experience with Fixcamx or similar dashcam that integrates with the rear view mirror housing?

OK, I messed up. My Fitcamx arrived and got the front installed in about 15 minutes. The hardest part was determining where to put the wire bundle. I'll let an expert deal with the rear camera. Any suggestions on high on the main window, low on the main window, or on the window below the spoiler.

There is one update compared to the YouTube instal/review videos. The micro SD reader now has both USB-A and USB-C connectors.

I have the FitcamX for my 2022 Prius Prime. I affixed the rear camera to the top of the interior trim around the upper rear window. Running the cable is relatively easy as the rubber trim around the door openings pulls back to permit the cable to be tucked behind it. I ran it along the top of the door openings, although I may go back to see if I can run it under the door sills instead to reduce/eliminate the risk of interference with the side airbags.

I use 3M double stick tape made to attach things like mailboxes, i.e. wide temperature range and moisture resistant. Even this tape had trouble adhering to the pebble finish on the interior trim plastic in the long term, so I masked off the area that the tape makes contact with, and sanded it with like 220 grit sandpaper to make it smoother.

The camera works well, but the app is so-so at best. One caveat: The recording will stop when the app is used to access the camera and review/retrieve files. Supposedly you can resume recording by going to the live view screen and verifying that the camera is recording. I just don't access the camera while it is recording (someone else is driving). Downloading videos can be slow, but the uSD card can be removed and inserted into a PC to retrieve the files.
