    Let me get this straight: The home owners can't afford the extra $1,500 insurance has gone up - what makes them think they can therefore cough up the thousands of dollars it will cost when their house is hit by a hurricane?

    Storm damage has become much more expensive over the past few years. Insurance companies can only recoup these expenses one way. Unless you're suggesting *shudder* the government getting into the home insurance business.
