I just installed the Flyaudio and wanted a thread to go and find tweaks and changes from me and everyone who has one.

    Install Tips:
1.) Did you know the GPS antenna works from the lower glove box (in NJ). I get 6 of 8 sats. This was a quick install until I decide where to put the antenna long term.
    2.)

    Flyaudio Firmware BIOs Version:
1.) Youtube has videos on how to upgrade BIOs.

    Nav GPS Software Used/Tried out:
1.) Stock: Odyssey Mobile GPS Nav. software. To get skins go to w w w infogation. c o m
    2.) iGO Primo 1.1 & 1.2

    Custom GPS Splash Screens:
    1.)

    Mods:
    1.)

    Undocumented Features:
1.) FM reception has improved for a few strong local channels with stock FM antenna. It went from bad reception, to better, not great.
2.) The DVD plays at a softer volume than the radio. Maybe I need to change settings ??

I read the new Navi does not allow Manufacture Logos anymore.

Can anyone with a new version confirm?
Also what specific iGo primo nav version should I try to install?

I've searched but I still can't seem to find a BIOS update for this unit. Can you provide a link?

This unit doesn't have a "BIOS" as such, as it runs embedded WinCE on an ARM processor. You can add extra software applications that are stored in EEPROM or the SD card, but as far as I know no one has been able to erase and reload the core firmware with a new version. The popular view seems to be that these things have a once-only programmed version of WinCE, usually the Chinese language version, with only the option to add other apps into EEPROM or maybe running them from SD card, like the nav software.

There may be a way to reload factory firmware from inside the unit somehow, maybe via a hidden JTAG port, but in all probability I think this is done by changing the board itself. I don't believe that changing the core firmware is a user option, but could be wrong.

I'm still a noob but I did see a bios update on youtube for the flyaudio.

There are a few diffrent videos on the subject.

I haven't found the version on my Nav screen yet.

    EDIT:
I found some BIOs update information at the Flyaudio forum:

    w w w .flyaudio.us / forum / 16-downloads

(remove spaces to get the link to work.)
