I was driving to recycle a bunch of AA batteries and the box spilled on the floor of the back seat. I think one of those went into the vent or the space next to the vent. There seems to be no obvious access to the vent cavity. Anyone know an easy way to fish it out?

Coat hanger, shop vac, or dismantle the car.

Here are some pics of that vent (this was my Dynamat project). I think the shop vac method should work:

Park on a steep incline or jack up the front could help in the process.

My domestic truck owning friends would recommend turning the car upside down and shaking vigorously.

Success! I extracted an Energizer AAA from inside the vent with a telescoping magnetic pick up tool. FOD from sloppy passengers may easily slip into these vents. It's worth a look if you have any rattles under the seats. My gas mileage will now go up .5 MPG for sure!
